Wild Barn Owl Owlets at Jordans Farm

The photos of these amazing young birds and all the footage on social media is thanks completely to Colin Shead and Glen Moore. We really thought the parents had given up again this year.  The box in the barn where they nested last year was occupied by Stock Doves. They were not using the box in the racket room (old shed). Then eventually they were spotted in the box in the Outback! The one used by squirrels last year.  Glen set his trail came up and it caught them as their activity increased taking more and more food to the box. There were clearly hungry chicks inside!

Colin pitched a tend and practically lived out there as the young owls took their first tentative steps out of the box.  (See the wee face poking out of the box in the B&W bottom right photo.  In the evening sun Colin took some amazing photos over a few days.  I just love these still fluffy young Owlets jockeying for position, scratching and then the most beautiful one right of Artimis, as named, sitting on a branch.
