Taylored Design

I always try to taylor the design to suit the wishes of the family and reflect the personality or interests of the deceased. For example for a cook included herbs and ripe cherry branches. One lady loved her wildflower lawn and purple and mauve. I included wildflower plug plants that could then be planted in the lawns of her surviving family members.
I am happy to use your own vessel for the arrangment such as the semi planted winter country arrangement in the family wicker basket above or even a pair of running shoes that took the keen runner out for a daily run.
If you have any flowers that you know your loved one loved I will do my best to source and include them. If you are able to drop some stems from their garden to accompany them on their final journey please do. One beautiful story is that of a stunning Camiliea shrub the son (deceased) had given his Mother over 10 years ago. It flowered better than it had ever done before that spring and so these beautifull flowers were given back to the son from his mother.
Sustainable Farewell Flowers

The arrangements I make are as green as I can make them. I use my own stems or buy from local flower farms if needed. I will buy in only when really necessary. For example one sheaf I made had an orchid as the lady loved orchids. The components are either fully compostable – no wire or foam and compostable ribbon so they can be left at the gravesid, or they are reusable for example some of the bases that I use like the baskets.
The Wake

If you would like the arrangement to be used at the wake do tell me and I will ensure that together we choose something suitable.
Flowers to complement the primary floral tribute for the venue can be provided. For one funeral I made a spray and 8 little posies in old fashioned ‘milk bottles’ which adorned the sides of the casket. These were then placed on the reception table next to the deceased photograph and given away to family members.

Funeral Wreath

My wreaths are made on a mossed natural twig base with no plastic and are fully compostable.

If you would like a semi planted wreath I incorporate plants or bulbs that can be planted in your garden. I choose perennials or bulbs that will last and use cut stems to finish the design.

Funeral Sheaf

A farewell sheaf is a beautiful tribute which I finish with a ribbon to complement the flowers. Fully compostable they can can left at the graveside.

This is a early summer pastel sheaf with iris, cow parsley, foxgloves, sweet peas blossom and sweet rocket. It smelt beautifull.

Farewell Spray

A larger floral tribute which sits on top of the coffin. Made using either a recycled carboard base or a branch bundle packed with moss this design can be semi planted too. The foliages and planted elements are placed first and the more delicate stems the day of the funeral so that they remain fresh.

This design was a semi planted design in late spring. The lady loved Lilac and the Lilac was flowering, perfect. Scabious and Erigeron were the planted elements with Narcissus Pheasent Eye and May Blossom amough the cut stems.

A fully planted tribute. The basket is lined with hessian to avoid plastic and moss used to reduce the weight then blubs and plants arranged and planted which can later be planted and enjoyed in the garden

This is a spring basket. Included in the mix and yet to flower are crocus, a favourite flower of the deceased. Most of the blubs and flowers will continue flowering for a few weeks. Rosemary is included for remembrance and with the exception of the hyacinths all will last more than one season and grow on in your garden.

Semi Planted Basket

A planted tribute with the addtion of cut stems for a more rounded, fuller look. The basket is lined with hessian to avoid plastic and moss used to reduce the weight then blubs and plants arranged and planted followed by addtional cut foliages and flowers. The plants and bulbs can later be replanted in your garden.

This is a late spring basket for a man who prefred foliage to flowers. The flowers therefore are muted in colour, fritiliaries, delicate daffodills and muscari. They can all be replanted along with the grey leaved plant in the forground. A variety of complemntary foliages where added to complete the look.

Decorating the Casket

Many people ask for addtional touches. We offer options.

Little mini bunches tied with a bow to complement the arrangement on top of the casket. These are kept in water untill they are tied to the casket (normaly a wicker casket is most suitable for these). After the service they can be placed back into the vessel and taken to the wake.

Decorating the Casket

Many people ask for addtional touches. We offer options.

Hearse / wake flowers.
A faced arrangement placed between the window and the coffin. Approx 1.5ft long. These can be removed and placed at the rear of a reception table a the wake and photos or food placed in front.
£70 each: generally two are required for each side of the coffin or casket.

A garland around the whole casket.

Garland full: £58 per metre (See picture below middle and very bottom image)
Garland ivy: £25.00 per meter (See picture left)
