And so that was Christmas!
Wilding, Wreaths, Wine & Workshops
The barn was busy!
We began the festive season with a wilding walking followed by eco wine tasting, however of course we choose THE day when a named storm hit. I can’t keep up with the names anymore!
The walk became a talk before Steve of Colne Valley Wines talked us through 4 suitably green wines appropriate to our ethos. Who say’s going green is tough?! Thank you, Steve we all had a lovely time, and OMG that port with my Christmas pudding truffles!
Following hot on the heels of wine tasting came wreath making.
Workshops for TOAST Sudbury, private commissions and workshops in the barn with The Foraged Bouquet.
My foliage buckets for more wreaths sold well and I got a lot of exercise trekking round cutting!
There was time too for a Christmas Fayre, at Earls Colne. It was so lovely to talk to everyone and actually sit down all day!
Workshops vary greatly, there is either great concentration or much chatter, totally depending on the group. Decorations are always tricky. We had a variety of foliage’s and dried flowers and seed heads. It is hard to choose. That said try choosing which ribbon is for you!
Finally, we welcomed the ladies from RECO, a refillery in Tiptree. For their Christmas ‘do’ they came to the farm for a rewilding walk followed by a Christmas table arrangement workshop and then enjoyed food and drink in the barn to complete the afternoon. It was a lovely day for them and for me.
A very busy and festive December and big thank you to everyone who came to the farm, bought foliage’s, a wreath or attended a workshop. I really am very grateful.
