Buzzards in our Pre Release Aviary

We have been fortunate to have the first buzzards in our prerelease aviary this month.

These two juveniles, Amplestone and Rougham were nursed back to health by Owls and Birds of Prey Rescue Suffolk & Essex – Stephanie Callister-Jarrold One was weak and had been attacked by corvids and the other had bumblefoot. Now they are in great condition now and look magnificent.

On the flip side of the coin. These birds make a mess! They have ‘white washed’ parts of aviary, I can tell their preferred perches. So I will have some cleaning to do before the next occupant’s!

They will only be here for a couple of weeks with more space to flay and to ensure they are well fed before it’s time for them to be wild again
